Club Reviews: System - Kompakt night |
|
|

Considering System started life in a pub in Halton Moor in Leeds, it
has certainly made the progression to one of Leeds best nights with
ease. It wasn’t long ago that they were throwing free parties to a
couple of hundred people, with the decks perched on a snooker table and
their own sound system having to be brought in.

When London’s had twelve months dominated by closures and goodbyes,
it’s become clear that the future of the capital, whatever the
superclubs may tell you, lies with the underground.

Haven taken the world by storm; ripped up festivals nation wide; won best Electro House DJ at the Ibiza DJ awards this summer; and recently shot straight into the worlds top 100 DJ poll at number 11; it was no surprise when the Leeds leg of his world tour sold out.

Club Reviews: Warehouse Project l Week 6 l Exhibitionist |
|
|

It`s week six in the Warehouse Project calendar and tonight’s
Exhibitionist party is surprisingly one of their few events that hasn`t
sold out well in advance. However the line up is no less impressive as
Detroit techno don Jeff Mills heads up the main space with UK house
starlets Ewan Pearson and Jamie Jones while Germany`s Innervisons boys
Âme and Dixon take control of the second room along with a DJ set from
Hot Chip.

It’s that time again. Every September Leeds is invaded by a swarm of
overdressed, funny talking, la-di-da locusts... or students’ as they
are more commonly known.

Club Reviews: Filth, Mint Club, Leeds |
|
|

After closing for a re-fit over the summer months the Mint Club is back. Since it opened in May 1998 (I was there, Derrick Carter played, I feel old!) it has hosted some of the biggest and best parties Leeds has had to offer, with promoters such as Back to Basics, Technique and Asylum holding court.
