David Garfit – Warning
Nocturnal
David Garfit is a fast rising DJ who plays around Leeds, Manchester and the rest of the UK. He has released on some key labels like Crossworld and SLiCK up until now, but here steps out on Nocturnal with a taster single from his forthcoming debut LP. Marrying some creamy synths with hip swinging claps and plenty of deep down basslines, “Warning” screams to be played by the poolside. Rather than relying on tried and tested vocal hooks, smooth female voices sound at home between the ditty keys and Hot Creations style bounce.
Also included is a sweet remix that strips back some of the shine and adds more meat and weight to the kick drum. It’s sympathetic to the original but re-figures it for a different time of the night, or a different room of the club. Proving himself to be one to look out for, this debut Garfit album can’t come soon enough!
